    Counterpoint

For those interested in the study of counterpoint, there has been an interesting discussion in the KVRAudio forum, including this link .. http://www.thereelscore.com/PortfolioStuff/PDFFile s/CounterPointFux.pdf
which is a stripped down version of the original manuscript by Johann Fux entitled Gradus ad Parnassum.

The thread has been most interesting so far and is well worth a look, IMO

Oh course all those familiar with this work can move on

Thanks for the post, Buckshead - The translation is a bit awkward, and like most instructional text is very full of "Should" "Always" "Never" "Must" - you know, the "rules" which are meant to be broken. Still, interesting stuff.

    Randy -

It's like "No, I won't go there . . (tongue in cheek) to learn something!"

    A least, that's how I took it.

Tongue was firmly planted in cheek. I couldn't stop myself from writing a contrasting post as a counterpoint to bigears' post.
