    First signs of B.O.B......

    Hi there.

Emerging from the depts of sample hell and gasping after air before diving back in again, Yes when working on single samples, fixing, editing, finetuning, listening to single tuba samples over and over again, you sometimes feel a bit crazy!
Anyway, I though I could tell you a bit more about B.O.B, Bigga Orchestral Brass.
The instruments sampled are Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba and French Horn.
The main instruments are sampled in three velocities, and there are several \"specials\" like Staccato, sordini, stopped horns (in French Horns), glissandos, drills and stuff.

There will be one CD/instrument + that you can buy the lot in one package:

    Bigga Orchestral Brass: 4CD library.....MSRP $189
Bigga Orchestral Brass: French Horn MSRP $59
Bigga Orchestral Brass: Trombone MSRP $59
Bigga Orchestral Brass: Trumpet MSRP $59
Bigga Orchestral Brass: Tuba MSRP $59

Target date for release, 1:th of February.

The samples are still in beta and there\'s a lot of work to be done but we have some demos, (thanks to Maarten Spruijt) and there will be some more later. Here are the links to the mp3:s:

    whoeouahh - sounds great, especially
Demo2 is fantastic - reminds me of
    passage from Mahler\'s 2\'nd.

Would you consider doing a couple of
extra vel. layers - maybe as an
    expansion?

Anyway I think I\'ll line up with my
credit card by febr. Is your business based in Sweden? ( jeg bor i København ).

    Hey Per and Maarten,

Cool stuff! Pricing is interesting as well, also for those who already spend too much on samples...

Maarten, what is your impression on mixing with other libraries?

And to be the first with this favorite question: any FF or FFF, maybe in some programs?

I second both of those questions.

Maarten, that first theme is gorgeous (again!)

Worra, looks like you did it again! Another great sounding lib at reasonable prices.

Keep up the great work, guys.

    Re: First signs of B.O.B......

    Peter,

About the mixing. The BOB samples have quite a neutral sound, and it\'s my opinion they can be used easily with other libraries. In the 1st demo I used them with AO strings soft sustain, Ethno World snares, Steinway B Grand piano, Percussive Adventures and synths ofcourse.

About the FF and FFF... this is SOLO brass, right! Perhaps you want a horn section to play FFF, but a single horn player...
I think the loud BOB samples can be compared with loud samples on other solo libraries at this moment.

It\'s just a good library for value!

    Maarten, thanks!
I am in learning mode, forgive any dumb questions. You\'re right ofcourse about the solo dynamics.
Sounds like a reasonably priced investment to me (another one my shortlist - which is quite long).

    Third that.

We all want that sinister sound!

Are the samples solo or ensemble sections?

    Re: First signs of B.O.B......

    Francis, waky waky, Maarten explained:

\"About the FF and FFF... this is SOLO brass, right!\"

But then again, like you, I don\'t mind having solo players playing real loud, when the objective is to combine them with DDSB to create section effects.

Given this MSRP I would definitely get at least the FH as a try.

I also like last umph of the tuba in Maarten\'s third demo.

    Cheers,

    Peter

The price is great! In fact, Im just waiting for a release date... then I\'ll place the order.

Still looking for that sound, ya know?

Like you had said...we have to blend and build to get it.

I will say that I really like what I am hearing on demo 1 & 2. Warm.
