Well, the demo that's posted sounds more like its designed for classical music... There's a lot of articulations, particularly throat noises that go on to make a jazz and pop sax..... The demo sounds like it will play the solo from Pictures at an Exhibition "The Old Castle" well but it doesn't seem like it can get funky...

WOW! Sounds very good! I'm a sax player and have played in many quartets, and it sounds pretty darn close! I noticed though that the vibrato seems to be "on or off." I hope we are able to get a little more flexability in the depth of the vibrato while we are playing (maybe through mod wheel or something).

I'll have to download the demo and mess with it, but I must say I'm impressed!

You can certainly get more vibrato than on or off. I have many of the WIVI Brass and woodwind, and you get full control over the vibrato depth, speed and other parameters that make vibrato. And you can set most of those to any Midi CC you want (including aftertouch and other non CC Midi controls). One of the coolest things about WIVI is how tweakable it is.

They sound great in a classical context.
Unfortunately I have plenty of saxes that work in a classical context.

It seems that they are a bit too austure and polite for jazz though.

One thing about the WIVI instruments is that they have built-in random tuning, so the notes are not the same pitch every time. You can turn this off so that every note is exactly in tune, as well as specifying different kinds of tuning.
