Sorry, not sample related, but I know my knowledgeable friends frequent this part of the site. I am doing the music for a video/dvd which will be sold via direct tv spots. Its a unique concept involving animals and nature. The marketing people behind it are highly qualified and have secured coverage of the product on Oprah. I do not know the extent of this coverage. Their music budget was laughable, but I did the project while maintaining all ownership in the music. They have a sync license. They now want to produce a cd of my music in conjunction with the video. Any thoughts on how best to handle this? Baring in mind they are paying very little up front. Is there a standard percentage of cd sales I should ask for. Should I let them buy me out and if so what would should the fee be (40 minutes of music)? Any other thoughts??
