First off, I can only read and write music a little; times to study it in full were either never present, or I just had to much to do (though I actually have some free time now, but keep finding other things to do; shame on me).
I have NEVER composed a piece of musicbefore until about three or four weeks ago, so with no formal training or previous composition, I set out to make some work using a free program (since I don't have the finances to afford purchases). The program choosen was FL Studio. It was missing some instruments (like xylaphone) and some sounded real crummy, while others sounded more real, so with some seaching I found some samples to replace crappy sounding ones like oboe, french horn, and trumpet.
With all that in mind, here are my works; useful contructive feedback is always appreciated:
"Solace": a two piano piece (each tuned a little differently); simple structure and theme -- just aiming for simplicity in the sadness:
"Night of the Chicken Hunters": imagine a bunch of chickens with arrow packs on their backs and small bow & arrows hunting down farmer Bob in "The Far Side" gone terribly, terribly wrong:
(with so much going on in hte piece and some random stuff, I don't imagine many -- if anyone here -- will like it)
Action 1 (untitled): my first piece of action music:
Follow up cue using the theme, bridge, and resolution in softer ways:
