Trying out the Steinway update (1.03)

    Hi, all!

I recorded this live with the Garritan Steinway standalone recorder ver 1.03, so no editing of any kind was done.

I wanted to try out the sostenuto, so I thought of playing this piece. Apologies to Mr. Liszt.

Thumbs up Re: Trying out the Steinway update (1.03)

    What a Consolation,

If you wouldn't have mentioned that it is Liszt, I would have gotten...

    But it's great. Subtle performance!

You are preserving the German quality tradition of the late Romantic era, Electone!

Very nice rendition of this Liszt piece. Your interpretation
brings out the real beauty of the music of Liszt and the
new Steinway update sounds really great.

    Hello, electone2007

Really nice performance. I haven't heard this piece in a long time, it's such a nice one. That Steinway is sounding pretty great isn't it though? Yeah!

    Thanks for this.

    Hi Fred, Jack, and Randy!

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Yes the Garritan Steinway really sounds good. This rendition also uses the una corda in a lot of places. I really like how it sounds.

This is a beautifully done rendition. I am extremely impressed that this is just recorded audio with no fixes.

What reverb setting did you use, because I love it?

Have to put this on my Liszt. Sorry, could not help it! Getting late. I was just on my way to bed and said what the heck - glad I stopped to listen! Beautifully done! Piano sounds good too!

Dan, I used a Yamaha Clavinova CLP-240, with graded hammer action.

Keith, this is under lid perspective, with treble turned to +10, using the onboard piano hall 2 reverb with top of wet fader at middle of dry with decay at 55 (I think), diffusion=0, and width and quality both at 100.

Thank you all for listening and for your nice comments.
