The toms are from Hans Zimmers private samples. They are layered with taiko drums from Rare Instruments.

Lucky Nick! I\'ve always wanted those toms he uses
The GM drums from the Conextant 500 Meg library are decent for soundtrack toms. That\'s about the closest thing I\'ve heard that has that type of sound, but still not nearly as powerful.
Speaking of Zimmers orchestral libraries, Jeff Rona emailed me from Mediaventures about 2 weeks ago and said to tell people on the forum that they decided not to release any of their private samples of the LSO due to contract issues with the orchestra and piracy issues. They did think about doing it though.

Speaking of Jeff Rona, this is his website: http://www.reelworld-online.com

Last summer I read his book \"The Reel World - Scoring for Pictures\". Nice introduction into the way scoring work is currently done. Recommended!

    Ok....
thats my next project when I get some time. to make some ZimmerToms. I think that the soudn of the RGD drums is jsut too up front , and possibly too much low mid and room. I ahve a feeling that with one of th kit sin taht library I can get a good sound. Or mabe with a mix of the stuff in Pure drums

Waht is it that is really the thing that you all hear in those toms that is so fantastic? I need to go to my old Rock CD and Crimson tide.. or my favorite Face/Off...jsut watched that tonight again...SO MANY people haet that score. I love it

Sorry, didn\'t notice - so many things giga out there...

Again, I\'m very impressed by your music (told you before). Is your music from this project ever going to be released on CD?

I guess this was mixed and mastered in a dedicated AV studio? Or can you do this at home?

    Regards,

    Peter

    Maarten,

You must have trouble turning your head, your ears are so big!

I download Giga demos to show others what can be done with GS and the good libraries. I have a separate folder for your music, it\'s just SOO good! \"Faith\" gives me chills every time I hear those gorgeous choir harmonies...

I\'m just REALLY glad that I don\'t produce orchestral works, I\'d have a huge inferiority complex! I\'m looking forward to hearing much more of your work.
