    Piano Part Competition

I had a message from Jack (aka Rhap2) who kindly gave me a Garritan Steinway Pro Piano to play with. He just mentioned that it hadn't been heard, so the only way you can hear it is to click on A Day in the Life (originally named Wall Street Hoedown I think).
I thought I had already sent it in - but apparently not.

Anyway - thanks again to Jack and Gary for their usual American hospitality to us poor saps that inhabit this washed up island (currently - but not necessarily forever)

    Re: Piano Part Competition

Hi Paul, I listened to the piano piece mentioned " A Day in the Life" as well as the others on the page. The piano piece was full of vitality and seemed to me to express Americana somewhat like Copland's Rodeo. Great piece and the piano sounds fantastic as well. The orchestral works were also a treat and very well done. Some great and stirring themes! Thanks! John

    Nicely written piece, Paul

I can see why you won the competition. It has a Copland flavor to it and is very energetic. I enjoyed listening to it this morning. Thank you!

That's not bad for a Britisher, Mr. Paul! (I'm kidding...I'm kidding!)

I will personally add a fiddle part to it to round it out.

Nice job. I like it...I like it. Did I forget to say that I like it?

    Best Regards,

    Larry

Really enjoyed this Paul - and some of the other pieces on your site. The piano sounds very crisp and clear which is a tribute to composer, performer and samples alike. That Steinway has ended up in a safe pair of hands!

    Paul R:

I tried to DOWNLOAD the Mp3, but was required to join
the site. I filled out the necessary form and "submitted"
it. The site stated that I would receive an email to "activate"
my membership so I could log in.

That was 24 hours ago and still haven't received my activation
    information.

Thanks everyone for your very kind words. Jack - sorry but the website is nothing to do with me - I'm just one of many who work there.

Larry old boy! Many thanks - by all means add a fiddle (especially if Rome is burning)

    Thanks Thomas - very kind.

Many thanks Graham - glad you enjoyed. We'll have a drink on the moor when the weather gets warmer.

Thanks Rich - Copland is one of my very favourite composers of all time and it's difficult for me, in a very small way, to stop writing Americana to the best of one's ability. I may need treatment.

Thanks John - I didn't actually mean to put up the others but glad you liked.
