Well done, Bill! This is kind of eerie sounding, but I enjoyed it. I can imagine it as part of a soundtrack (no cartoon images this time)
Was this done in a notation program? If so, it's a good recording.
    Thanks for sharing! John

    Bill,

I sure hope you'll be able to get a performance of this with real players. This movement along with the others is turning out to be a very well thought out work and quite enjoyable to listen to. Bravo!!

    Keep 'em coming.

Thumbs up Re: String Quartet Op 2 MM III

Esoteric high strings. I liked the third movement in your string quartet.

    Bill:

I liked it too. As John said, "It sounds mysterious" and I agree but
it is a pleasant kind of mysteriousness. The dissonances are mild
and easy to take, but overall contribute much to this contemporary
    style of writing.

I think your movement is too short, but if that's all you want to say,
then you have said it well.

    Very well done, Bill

John - Thanks for listening. Yes this was done with Finale 09. I used the 'ETLUX' principle and marked the score heavily with expression markings.
Steve - Yes, I too hope to get a live performance. This May it might be performed by the Black River Quartet, a local string quartet that has some magificent players.

Fred - Yes, aren't those harmonics nice. They are the 'glue' between sections and they certainly draw the ear's attention.

Jack - I am glad you enjoyed this little mystery. I felt it was a bit to brief and i might look into extended some of the passages. Thanks for your input. I do plan a longer 4th movement, but it is still on the drawing board.

Thanks all for listening and the comments.

    Best Regards,
    Bill

    Very creepy. -_o

Enjoyed listening very much - the high strings were done beautifully.

    Hi Bill,

I enjoyed your piece. I particularly liked the opening and the closing. I tried to get to the other movements, but each time the link took me to a logon Page. I had listened to one of them before, and enjoyed it even more than this movement.

    Bet Regards,

    Jack

Jacksiru - Sorry, I had the wrong string for the thread. It is corrected now: http://67.228.125.226/forum/showthread.php?t=65636
