    Mother Goose Suite (Ravel)

    Hi All,

After many tribulations, I made it back. First my computer seemed to be infected with constant pop-ups and hangups, so that it was impossible to work with. I was all set to re-install the operating system (and wipe everything), but I found that 'System Restore' works wonders.

Then I was having trouble with distorted rhythms, noise (static..distortion etc.), but I more or less got around that by switching the ASIO back and forth between two versions. There are still a few anomalies, but things are more or less under control.

The following is all GPO. I posted one of the pieces before, but it and all the others have been revised. I hope you enjoy it.

You made an excellent job. I remember the first time i met this suite when i studied chamber music, and i performed it like a 4 hands piano work. I enjoyed this a lot!. Of course, like an orchestral work is much richness because its colors and orchestral combinations. I think you achieved to shape the subtle, misty and naive feeling of the suite. Maybe there is some mixes issues with some instruments, but in general, the mix is fine too. The end with its glissandos sounds magical.

    Congratulations.

This caught my eye because I just saw the BSO perform this last week. I think you did an excellent job capturing the mood of each movement.

    Hi Victor and Trent,

Thanks very much for listening, and for your comments. I enjoyed working on this because they're such great pieces. In the old days, people copied scores by hand in order to learn music; these days we can do renderings, which is more satisfying because of the feedback of the sound, but I'm not sure the learning is any greater.

    Thanks again.

    Best Regards,

    Jack
