Tomorrow, Friday April 3rd we will have a real-time chat about the recent acquisition of Giga, the implications and possibilities for the future.
We usually meet on Fridays (and often Sundays) at 4pm EST, 1pm Pacific Time and 9pm UK time.
We welcome Giga users to come and share ideas and help us chart a direction for Giga.
You can access the chat by clicking on the chat menu in the menu on top - which will appear when the chat room is open tomorrow. You need to be a registered member of the NS forum to participate (and you must have java installed).
Hope you can make it and looking forward to seeing you there.
Our first Giga chat is now over. We had a very good chat today and a good number of new people turned out.
There were questions about our plans and some technical discussions. The main two discussions focused on GSIF and iMIDI.
One thing we focused on was GSIF drivers. We discussed whether it is wise and necessary to continue to support GSIF cards. Or be able to use any cards in any ppossible future products. It seemed the consensus was to drop GSIF. GSIF may have been necessary under older less powerful systems, but may not be needed in today's more powerful computers.
We also discussed the future of iMIDI. We discussed the benefits of iMIDI vs. Scripting vs. C++ programming.
Mark Belbin provided a great deal of insight about iMIDI. It was the consensus that iMIDI be further developed and improved. This is something we will look into and develop further.
We also discussed some other issues.
It was good meeting many of you and getting acquainted. Let's meet again next Friday to discuss some more.
