Today is "Sorry Charlie" Day and a good day for a chatner.
Have you ever been spurned and rejected? Sorry Charlie Day is for all of us who have been rejected and survived. It originated from the old Starkist commercial about Charlie who was never quite good enough to wind up in a can of tuna fish.
So head on over to the chat and you won't be rejected.
The "Sorry Charlie" theme reminds me of my greatest backpacking trip ever.
We dubbed it the "Lost Opportunity Weekend." Basically, we sat around the campfire, drank rum, and recounted girls we should have dated, jobs we should have pursued, lottery tickets we should have bought ("I was going to choose those numbers!"), and trips we should have taken.
Rather than feeling that we had blown it with our dumb decisions, we finished the weekend with optimism. We realized that the decisions we DID make weren't so bad, and that if we had such a string of opportunities when we were young and stupid, we would continue to be presented opportunities as we get older and wiser.
Then again, it's too bad we can't be young and wise!
