yet another choral work.. | 'Light of Spring'

Okay, back again with a choral piece.. I don't know why, but I just keep on writing for mixed choir.. here's the poem:

Light of Spring / Isabelle Sue Barbour

    Sunbeams creep across my pillow
    Tickling lashes oh, so lazy
As sleep turns its face away
Chasing dreams back to their boxes
    Slamming the lid and I
Wake to a morning warm and hazy
    Such a friendly light
    No coat, no shoes
Wrapped only in a rosy glow
    Sunbeams hug you
Winter's ice has paid its dues
    Blessed warmth in rainbow hues

So, basically.. have a listen and enjoy, all kinds of feedback welcome!

Hi, I enjoyed your composition and rendering, which fit very well with the poem.
I liked that momentary dischord and the pacing of this piece. Is this the Garritan Instruments for Finale 2009? Thanks for sharing your work! John

Thanks for the comments And the instrumentation here is very simple actually, as I'm still using Finale 2008, I get the set of samples that come with it so this has the Steinway piano and choir 'aahs' (although I edited the sound a bit with the 'outputs' in KontaktPlayer to get it smoother and more choral-like, seems to have worked..)

Thumbs up Re: yet another choral work.. | 'Light of Spring'

Yes it seems to have worked!!! Beauitiful melody and poem, Brindle! It is maybe recorded at low volume to listen on a laptop, so in a while i'll find my headphones and listen again.

    Very nice

I did have to crank up the volume a lot to hear it.

What beautiful artistry. Love the poem and the melody. Volume was great on my laptop too!

    Good morning, Brindle

"...I don't know why, but I just keep on writing for mixed choir..."

And that's because you're so good at it. We tend to gravitate to what touches us most, what engrosses us most - and you have choirs singing in you, so you keep letting them out!

Lovely piece, and one of the best uses I've ever heard of the Finale choir.

Your new version with louder volume is what I heard, and it was at a good solid level on my laptop even with my speakers turned up only to 3/4.

Thanks for the peaceful, uplifting music.

    Randy
