    unwanted key change

While recording a track using gpo the key will modulate up a step.
For example I am working on a song in E major and suddenly the pitch goes to F# major.

I have this problem with no other program.

Is there a switch or setting I need to learn about?

    Thanks for any help.

Hmm... Maybe it defaults to the key range of the instrument. I'll be waiting for the answer myself. I'll be purchasing the GPO very soon.

    Re: unwanted key change

I once had a problem with an unexpected key change and it turned out to be a stray pitch bend command. Take a close look at your event editor at the time of the sudden key change. You may find the answer there.

BTW, in my case I liked the effect and timing (half-step down) so I kept it in...

Oh yeah, what host are you using for GPO? A DAW, a notation package? That makes a difference...

    Re: unwanted key change

Thank you for your replies! I appreciate your time.

I am recording into cubase essentials 4
My midi keyboard is a casio wk - 3300 that has a usb port on it.

My first thing was to re-install the casio midi drivers but that did not help.

I've been using the casio for several other vsti's and never had this problem before.

The modulation happens at various places in the track recording and it is happening with several different instruments.

The only clue I have so far is that it always seems to happen when I am playing a full chord .... several notes at a time but where it happens is not the same each time.

More than anything it is just a huge annoyance and time eater. I will not stop me from using the program!

I love the program and the instruments are awesome.

I've heard of this problem occurring in Finale before. Any chance that's your platform?

    Hi Reegs.....

I apreciate your reply and your time in posting.
I posted a reply yesterday (9/27) to Johnny boy and raweber that has not been posted yet. Not sure why posts take so long in getting on this board but anyway......

In the problem I've outlined I am recording in Cubase Essentials 4.

    Thanks again for your reply.

    Re: unwanted key change

    bump!

Still having this problem with GPO suddenly changing keys on me.

I've since bought the Jazz and Big Band program and as of yet I've not had the problem with it.

    Any Thoughts would be helpful.
