Very well done, Mr. Dan, with a lot of feeling. This is one of my favorite Schumann piano works and you certainly did it justice. (Some chick he knew named Clara was no slouch as a composer also.)

    The Steinway sounds wonderful!

Ah, another virtuoso performance by Dan Kury.

Really great piano sound Dan and so much feeling in this
performance. Schumann was definitely a great composer,
but a lot of people write him off because he had a mental
    condition not understood by most.

    Dan,

What one can express with just a handful of notes...

And you did it so well in your special way of playing!

Schumann's little pieces are irresistable, I always d to play them.

I'm glad you like them too...

How did you get so much feeling from "picked out and played not by note"? I know it is great source material, but the performance on this sounds terrific.

I love Schumann, particularly his piano music and lieder. This is a great piece of music and a great performance.

    Raymond,
I take it you liked it thank you

Larry, Clara's piano Concerto in A Minor is amazingly beautiful.
If you don't have a CD of Clara Schumann's piano Concerto in A minor I will send you a copy. I did it with all Garritan instruments... that's right,,, all 21 minutes worth. My Mom, bless her heart played all the notes of all the orchestral instruments on the midi keyboard, and the notes were recorded in to Digital Performer, then I edited them for phrasing and all that schtuff, and Frederick Moyer played some woodwinds too.

I did it for Fred, he is a concert pianist. PM me your mailing address and I will cheerfully send you one.

Jack, it is so sad to me that Robert had to die such a tragic death.

Yudit, I am so glad you liked it. I thought your wording is so clever.
    Thank you!

Trent, I play chords most of the time, but I literally play a chord at a time, then I hunt and peck the keyboard for the next chord and record that one and then go on all the way to the end and then of course move everything around so that there is some emotional charachter to the midi notes and of course velocity editing is also critical. Sorry for that long run on sentance

I just finally realized something after reading your wonderful post....
All my life, I have listened to music of all kinds. Certainly, most of it was performed by what I call exceptionally gifted musicians. Sometimes I am left with a feeling that is so deep. A feeling that I so desperately would kill for to have the power to affect others the way I am ministered to when I hear their music. This is in no way a claim for Robert Shumann's Von fremden Landern, that belongs soley to Robert. I just hope that this "mockup" affects you in a very positive way.

Even though, I can not claim playing this like a real pianist could, my tools are purely zero's and ones. I just hope the music is what is most noticed here.

Thanks for your very encouraging comments.

Dan, I know this piece well having played and taught it, and have to say that you got staright to the heart of it. Your shaping of the melody is lovely, and your version overall captuires the poetic feeling of the piece.
    Thanks for sharing this.
