Photosynth is really fun, though still not perfect. I photosynthed my desk area a few months ago. If you install Microsoft's photosynth plug-in, you can view it here:

(My desk area is not so messy now, I've been keeping it clean. )

There are some other neat photosynths to explore on that site as well, including Mars photos from NASA. Fun stuff.

Nice! I've not seen that before. Wouldn't it be cool if you could do the same with music? Not just panning, but being able to focus in on the violins and hear their part to the point of the section (or player) being soloed. Or the rhythm guitar player in a band, etc.

if the demo isn't doctored, it represents something along the lines of what you mention (though not live of course).

What about this? Here is the next generation in search technology - yet another example of the semantic web coming together before our eyes.

    Wow!! That's awesome!

It seems you can also play around with it a bit here http://www.wolframalpha.com/

... though it seems it's still a work progress, very cool! Google better watch out.

wow, that is very cool indeed, but it is a bit different to google. Its not a search engine. Its a giant mathematical bohemouth!

Type in FBI and all you get is what it means. Google FBI and you get a wealth of information, stories etc etc which wolframalpha cant deal with....

i can see google and wolfamalpha owning the internet in the future...

No, it's definitely not in direct competition with Google's web search, but Google does dabble in that sort of data finding as well, and I'm sure Google wishes they could do what Wolfram's doing there. (See Google reference tools, it's like a much more primitive version)
