It's great to be back, my friend, thank you!

I picked up on these a while back on your site - and had been waiting for them to appear here to give me the opportunity to say how much I love these three Nocturnes.
Thanks, Graham. They'd been on the site for a
while -- but I simply hadn't had time due to other
    work to post them.

All three twist and turn in a masterly way that holds the attention and keeps things moving. The third, I find particularly haunting and beautiful - but each is an absolute gem.

Top marks for the Steinway also - I honestly thought this was a real piano and assumed we wouldn't get to hear it in the LR!
Especially in live play, the G.Steinway is uncannily
    real. I think I've said before, it's the oddest sensation;
I'll look up from the keyboard while playing, and be
momentarily jarred by the expectation of looking
ten feet ahead and seeing the other end of the piano.

    Kind regards, Graham

PS good luck with the synth project.
Thanks for the good wishes, Graham. Now that
the www.SSynth.com project is out, I do hope to
be back around the forum much more.

    All my best,

    David

And a great comeback it is!

I have listened to them already once, but on this second listen they are like new discoveries.

A lot of emotions surf and ebb taking the listener onto imaginary journeys…

Just wonderful improvisations and I enjoyed all three of them!

    Bravo!

Thanks for the enthusiastic welcome, Yudit!

I'm pleased you enjoyed these little improvisations.

    Welcome back, David.

A fine music you did here!

Now I will look what a synth you have built! An interesting story from the very beginning!

you said these were played "live," but the piano output
itself was "crafted" so well to get the response and sonority
you desired. Great piano sound, bar none.
Thanks, my friend. To be straightforward, I really didn't
do any "engineering" to speak of with the sound, though,
    Jack.

I almost always use the "Classical" perspective. I start
up the G.Steinway, fiddle the knobs around until it sounds
about right, click the recorder on and set to it.

Post engineering is little more than clipping excess leader
and tail off, and bracing the overall level properly... then
    converting to .mp3 format.

If the sound is good, I think it really goes more to the
    G.Steinway's credit than anything else.

One other factor might be pedaling; particularly so in this
kind of material. If you were to be in the room, you'd
probably note my feet working as hard as my fingers --
as I make quite extensive use of both soft and sustain.

This is probably one of the most crucial aspects in the
design and implementation of the G.Steinway: If you
pedal it like a real piano -- it reacts like a real piano.

Pedaling is one of those areas too many pianists -- even
some of the best -- devote too little time to properly
learning; yet, it gives a tremendous degree of control,
depth, and dimension to the instrument.

Of the three, I felt I lilked No. 1 the best. While listening, I
had the feeling that your writing was being influenced by
the "French School;" perhaps, Debussy or one of his
    contemporaries.
Oh, heck, Jack, I'm influenced by every writer I've ever
heard -- even the bad ones... lol. Depends on my mood at
the moment, I guess; though I cannot say that I consciously
think about it. What the material wants, that's what I do.

But, all in all, a masterful performance and
wonderful additions to your already burgeoning composition
    library. So well done, David.

    BRAVO,

    Jack
Many thanks for the kind words, my friend!

ROFL... well, there is that old Chinese saying about
being careful what you wish for, you know... But
thank you, my friend, for the welcome.

He's surprised us with new music which couldn't have been predicted from our past experiences with music from the Sosnowski catalog. Enchanting solo Piano pieces which everyone will be the richer for having heard.
Thanks, Randy; and an interesting observation ("could
not be predicted from... the Sosnowski catalog"). Not
that I have much of a catalog; but I'm a little surprised
myself sometimes by what comes out in improvisations.

The unique Sosnowski Synth is now available!
    Yes indeed! Unabashed plug: www.SSynth.com

I've been trying to think up some way to offer this at
a discount to all my friends, here, by the way; but there
are some technical kinks, doing that with the transactor
I have and the backend automation setup I use. Anyone
interested should contact me, though; and I'll get back
to you when I work something out with that.

Please use the Support form on www.SSynth.com for
    that, thanks.

It's a red letter day at the Forum, so Thank You David!

    Randy
Thanks again, my friend, for so much support on that
    project!

Thanks for the welcome, Trent. I think many of us have
been off on other projects or concerns lately.

It is always great to hear a new Sosnowski piece. I really enjoyed these three nocturns. And improvised? Al i can say is "wow" - I wish I could play this well when I play something I know very well and wish my writting was this expressive when I take my time.
I appreciate your kindness, my friend; thank you.

You know, I really do not hold little pieces like this up as
sterling by any means -- more to the point is just the
enjoyment one has of doing them.

Improvisation is perhaps a writer's way of kicking up his
heels and having some fun... unfettered by all the
formal concerns that somehow always seem to attach
    themselves to the pen.

    Really enjoyed all three.

I'm sorry that I have waited so long to hear these. These are marvelous little gems of musing on thoughts of 3 lovely topics. The phrases alone for the titles invokes mental images of each solitude. I certainly was not disappointed in the images and feelings you conjured up in my mind as I listened to these pieces. Thanks for yet another view of your musical prowess!

David, please, if there is any way you could have a score of these pieces for me?

It would be a great honour for me to perform them next May as part of the music festival here. I only hope my pianistic skills can do THEM honour.

May I also take a moment to deeply thank so many of

Needless to say, these are done live and unedited

Many thanks, Gary. Getting back to the keyboard
has been a great pleasure -- even if I've still got a
great deal of rust to blow off.

    Thanks for listening!
