    GPO Full ver.3 and Finale 2009b - Notation set?

    I'm running GPO version 3 with KP2, and using it with Finale 2009b, on a Mac.

    There are some old links referring to a notation set for GPO.

    I'm currently having some problems with KeySwitches one 8ve below each instrument. (good for playing into a sequencer, etc.)

    The older notes on the Notation Set refer to KS residing in the bottom 8ve of the MIDI spec ( way down there!)

    This would solve my problem.

    Was the Notation Set discontinued?
    Is there a fix, a download, or workaround?

    Thanks!

    Hi Goldsmith,

    KP2 should have the notation versions available. They're under Category 9 of the instrument drop down.

    Best,

    Thanks, Reegs!
    That was new to me.
    So...

    Why doesn't Finale 2009 Setup Wizard, when you select a Garritan ensemble,
    and especially when you select GPO Kontakt Player 2 edition (in the second Wizard Window) for the Instrument Set,
    use the Notation Set in KP2?

    In other words,

    How can I access the Notation Set from the Wizard?

    hhmmm, so I opened "gpofull2instrument.txt" in TextEdit to see what gets loaded when using the Finale Setup Wizard, and it's all loading #9 Notation.

    example:

    [INS:Violin 1 Gagli Solo KS]
    DisplayName = Violin 1 Gagli Solo KS
    InstType = SingleViolin
    Patch = 40
    SampleFile = 9. Notation/7. Solo Strings/1. Violin/n-Violin 1 Gagli Solo KS.nki

    So, is there a glitch in this setup?
    I'm still trying to get the KS triggers to appear in the lowest 8ves, not just one 8ve below each instrument range.

    Re: GPO Full ver.3 and Finale 2009b - Notation set?

    So... I went into Finale's Audio Units Instruments Setup, and opened KP2 from there.

    All the GPO instrument's KS are one 8ve below.

    I can load an additional Notation Instrument, and indeed it's KS are 3-4 8ves below.

    So can I delete the wrong ones, load the correct ones, and save the Finale file, and it retains the edits?

    Well, I feel like I'm talking to mysef, but I swapped out the instruments, and saved the file, restarted the computer, and reloaded, and it loads properly now. It's fixed, and I learned a lot in the process.
    Perhaps this may help others.

    Re: GPO Full ver.3 and Finale 2009b - Notation set?

    The lingering issue is:

    What is wrong in the .txt file that loads the wrong set from the Setup Wizard?

    from an earlier post:
    =======
    example:

    [INS:Violin 1 Gagli Solo KS]
    DisplayName = Violin 1 Gagli Solo KS
    InstType = SingleViolin
    Patch = 40
    SampleFile = 9. Notation/7. Solo Strings/1. Violin/n-Violin 1 Gagli Solo KS.nki
    ========

    This looks correct, but it doesn't load the Notation set!
