    Leaves blowing in the night

A moment of inspiration sitting under an oak tree on a moonless, dark night.

    Nice Gary,
this is a moody and glimmering work. I can see and almost hear the leaves dancing in the wind. Gee, I wish it were longer.

nice rendering on a pleasant work.

    best regards,
    Bill

    Thanks for listening, Bill.
Sometimes it's difficult to know when some†hing is too long or short.
I'm thinking of revisiting in the future with a larger ensemble.

Nice impressionistic piece for your trio. I'm not sure about the ending - it seems like it is about to take off for some-where-else and it ends. I guess it depends on what you were looking for - it is a kind of a breathless end that leaves you hanging - maybe all the leaves blew away? Anyway, over all I really enjoyed this.

    Thanks for listening, Trent.
My early versions seem to frequently end indecisively.
As I said, probably more will follow.
My thought was: when you sit and view any scene, it's like entering in the middle of a Cinema-story is already started and in this case continues when I go inside.

    Hi, Gary

Your piece is certainly evocative of the title and the scene you described in your post - And they all blew away. Interesting.

It would be interesting to understand the mind process that leads me along this composition process. I have no precognition of what I will write, and I forget most of the discovery after I finish a work.

Excellent! How insparational. Such spacing instrumentally. Very cool ... very cool! Conjures up all types of thoughts.

    Very nice!

The section from about 1:26 till the end is especially compelling. It's a perfect little miniature. I don't think it needs to be longer, but it depends on what you see for it. I can definitely imagine it as part of a set of tiny pieces--sort of a musical box of fine chocolates.

I can totally relate to this, going through a similar endeavor myself. It's definitely working for you.
