    Help creating *.scl file

    Hi, all!

Is there a kind soul out there who would help me create a *.scl file for the following?

Bill Bremmer's EBVT III Temperament: offsets in cents

    A 0.00
    A# 2.86
    B -0.03
    C 3.80
    C# -1.29
    D 0.86
    D# 1.59
    E -0.41
    F 1.84
    F# -0.28
    G 3.11
    G# 0.67

I have no idea how to do it.

    Re: Help creating *.scl file

    Hi

You would need to convert that into absolute cents from the start of the scale. (no particular start note is defined in the scala format)

    like this:

    ! EBVT_III.scl
    !
    Bill Bremmer's EBVT III Temperament
    12
    !
    102.86
    199.97
    303.8
    398.71
    500.86
    601.59
    699.59
    801.84
    899.72
    1003.11
    1100.67
    2/1

    Now:

A)save the file as "EBVT_III.scl" in the Steinway Scales folder,
    B)Load it in Steinway,
C)set the start note to A4 (any A's for that matter as you have a 12 note scale)
If you need to modulate, or use another key, you can change the root note of the "interval shift" at will. No need to redo the scala file
