    Eggshell Dance #3 (Kowalski)

    Hello all,

Time for another Eggshell Dance. Here is number three:

I haven't prepared the score for this one yet. If you missed dances 1 & 2, you can find the mp3s and pdf scores here: Eggshell Dances

All of these dances use the Garritan Authorized Steinway.

    Comments appreciated.

NOTE: This was posted before I swapped the numbering on 3 and 4. The comments regard what is now #4.

Great ending! This has a kind of jazz flavor but maybe it's just me - I listened to a couple of Miles CDs from late 60s (Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and etc. on keyboards) today and this could almost fit right in. Jazz flavor or not, I really liked it.

I went to your web site and was confused for half a second when I started playing #1. Playing through all of them this does fit in the set very well. Can't wait to hear the other 9 (if you go with David's idea of a dozen eggshells...)

Delightful 1m 27s. Very playful theme and good development of it
    in the time you devoted.

    These dances are really good.............

Jamie! - I almost let this one slip by!

Jazzy, improvisational, airy, delightful - a great addition to the Eggshell series.

Is this the player's perspective for The Steinway? It's extremely close with perhaps no room ambience - I felt it could move away from me at least a little. The lower frequencies also seem a bit strong, a bit of adjustment with the piano's EQ controls I think may have been useful. - ?

    I like - thanks!

Three down, nine to go... lol.

    Hey, you know how I love these little "preludes", Jamie;
and this one no exception -- concise, to the point, no
    wasted ink.

With Randy, I think I might give it just a touch more
space and a little bit more distance in the recording.
This is so much a matter of personal preference --
yet, to me, I try to consider the expectations of a
listener: few are accustomed to hearing a piano in
a small room, up very close, played softly.

For the likes of you and me, that's perhaps how we
know the instrument most intimately; but most
listeners might find it somewhat too terse.

    My best,

    David Sosnowski
