SOLACE a trio for oboe, clarinet & bassoon

I started on a project to write a simple duet IN C.

    Then I did this...
    I'm bad....

    Gary

I'm sure there are places where someone in here hits a C.

The mix sounds pretty realistic to me. A little close perhaps, but sounds like a real performance.

    Nice

    Hi Gary,

Sounds really good. Nice mix and piece. I like the little clashes. Love those low notes on the basoon. Nice work!

Gary - It's the best sounding recording you've presented here in a long time. The reverb is under control! Very effective work.

    Thanks for listening, Trent.

    Hi Randy,
Thanks for listening. I continue to forget-concerning reverb-that less is more...

    Thanks for listening, Chris.
Bassoon offers such a complete tonal base for bass/tenor part.

    Thanks for your comments, Ron.

Hey Gary! This is quite interesting what you've done here. I always find it difficult to write for small numbers of instruments. This has a very nice mellow, yet dissonant sound to it. I really like the melody presented at the beginning and again about halfway through (If I remember that correctly )

The reverb setting on this is just perfect. It really sounds like I'm listening to them play in a live setting, possibly a large room. Thanks for posting!

    Thanks for listening, Michael.
My comp teacher keeps me returning to duets every year. An attempt to encourage me to plan ahead rather than note to note.
