We Three Kings/O Come All Ye Faithful for Christmas Album

Hi all , I am still tweaking this a bit here and there, but it is bascially done. This is my submission for the 2009 Garritan Community Christmas Album -- a bit early I know, but wanted to get it done as soon as possible. All comments welcome.

Gosh, I don't know why nobody has commented on your piece. I know its the first of August but I listened to it first thing this morning and, as it was pouring with rain here - AGAIN, it somehow seemed not out of time.

I think you have made a very good and competent job of this. I bet nobody else has even started, I haven't really got far but might try out the GPO4 on it.

I don't think that I could spot anything that needs changing so perhaps leave it as it is.

Have to switch gears from the warmest weather we've had all summer to Christmas... Interesting mix between these two songs - they are so different and yet I think you did a good job segueing from one to the other.

Every year I say I'm going to do something for the Christmas CD and I always get a good start, but other projects come in and never get anything past the starting phase. I think you're smart to do it early.

    Hi there Karen!
I agree with Trent, you did well to get your head around these carols in July (?) - but I can hear lots of work on your part and it is clever and builds nicely!
    Thank you for sharing!!

Thank you Derek and Trent for listening. Honestly, I was unsure of the weird rendering of this "stately" song as a jig in the middle of the piece, but for some reason it just happened. The O Come was not planned either. Some of the transitions, especially the extreme tempo change, were things I mulled over and struggled with a bit. I'm not totally happy with them, but feel there are more or less OK.

On nobody listening, maybe that's because I've been absent from the forum for about a year, so some folks may not remember or recognize me.

Well, I should go do a little listening here too.

    Thanks again guys for commenting.

    All my best,
    Karen

Hi sd cisco, thanks for listening! You posted just as i was posting that last thank you, so here's yours :-)

We haven't met before I don't think, so nice to meet you. If you have time, tell me a bit about what you do.

I've been away for a year or so (rough times), but am glad to be back and meet all the new folks and re-connect with old friends.

    Cheers,
    Karen

    Karen:
I've been gone (from the forum) but after a few glitches trying to log in, I'm happy to return. Your arrangement, as usual, is first class. Great variety of textures, sounds and styles. Oh, to have your ear and taste.
We'll catch up soon but for now, hip, hip, hurray!
