    Journey to the gates..old version

This is the old version if you want to hear what it used to sound like. The new version is in a new thread.

Okay, I don't like posting tracks that are NOT finished, except if I am having someone add a lead guitar......BUT ~ I have been trying to write this D*%# track for over a year and I finally got it on paper and started recording it. This track has been the mother/given birth to the last 6 tracks I have put up here. ( I have to start making money so I can afford better beer).

This track is melodic and repetitive, like most of my tracks.

Anyway....................... This track is 2/3rds finished, I have more to add but wanted to see if I was paddling up the stream with 2 paddles or just SOL and going over the falls with an OH SH*T look on my face.

The title of this track is; Journey To The Gates.

Here is what's in it so far and what I want/will add:

    My Toys;

    3 synth tracks
    1 Moog lead track
    1 Bass guitar track ~ my P-Bass
1 Guitar Power Chord track ~ my Telecaster
Drum click track ~ Yamaha So8 Rock Kit ...... my old lady won't let me buy a full kit it and bring it home.
Church Organ Track with Waves Cathedral FX ~ Yamaha So8 ~Just Added

    GPO stuff so far:

    Cellos
    Violas
    Violins
    French Horns
    Trombones added yesterday...Monday
    Trumpet added yesterday...Monday

    GPO stuff to come:

    Tubular Bells

More of my stuff to come:

Full BIG Arena Rock Drum track

Here is what it is so far:

As I'm writing this there is a man who lives on the East Coast, in the Carolinas, South to be exact, in a town called Fort Mill, on a street named Sedgewick, in a one bedroom apartment, alone ...

    ROCKING OUT!! to Hippie's:

    JOURNEY TO THE GATES!!

My goodness, you say so much, with broad strokes of the brush.
BTW, what gates are we traveling to?

    Awesome work!

You are paddling up the river with two paddles and a large outboard motor... Though I'm with Paul and want to hear this played with the full drum kit.

Rivers and paddles - are we heading to the two majestic statues that for the gates of Gondor? Or are you not a LotR (books, not movies) nerd like some of us here?

I spent most of day doing 2 tracks and mixing them in, (trombones & trumpet). I will put that version up as soon as I like the mix and master of it, should be in a couple of hours.

Beautiful track, sir! I ran a cable to my surround sound because it was peaking on my tinny laptop speakers. With a subwoofer boost, it sent shivers down my spine and my cat to the other side of the house.

I was thinking either LOTR or Narnia...

I look forward to hearing that lead!
Maybe I should have come up with a more original username.
