    Brass Choral revisited

    Hello Everybody,

Sometime ago I posted my Choral for Brass with a request for critisism.
I received quite a few good idea's and tips.

    The original was:

Now I've incorporated all your remarks in this version:

I've changed it a good deal and I'm curious what you think of it.

I've used GPO, EWQL Brass, SAM, and VSL

    Greetings,
    Joost

Hi Joost. Not sure why you haven't had any replies yet except that some might be concerned about the amount of GPO in this (you name 4 libraries).

As far as the choral goes, I think it is very nice. I do remember your last post post and from what I remember you have done a better job in keeping the feeling consistent throughout this time.

I believe your return to this work and revision is excellent.
Well thought out, beautiful melodies, strong harmonies, traditional cadences, great part writing, and well crafted use of dynamics.

    Very impressive!

Beautifully written and arranged, Joost! Quite
a lovely work, and much enjoyed.

I might suggest a little more thought on the
dynamics in the third quarter or so of the work.

I do hope you find a way to performance with
    this!

    My best,

    Hello there Joost!
I enjoyed this piece very much - thank you for posting!
Sounds a tad Wagnerian - but nothing wrong with that!

    Best regards,

Thank you all very much for your comments,

    Sharing
12.596 posts among you it all sounds very flattering.

I’m happy nobody mentioned “muddying thirds” which was one of my objectives to take out.

    Greetings,
    Joost

I like this a lot Joost, the feel and mix is very nice.

I would have listened sooner but I was recording a new song and didn't need another distraction, if you know what I mean.

Hi, Joost! - AH yes, I remember your previous version, now that you mentioned there was discussion about some "muddying 3rds."

This is beautiful - I really loved hearing it. Do take note of Et Lux's observation that the dynamics are off in the latter 1/3 - it gets too soft in proportion with the rest.

Mixing several libraries in music posted here is no problem as long as Garritan instruments are prominent.

    Thanks--Gorgeous sounds.
