Does Ten crazy MFX work for Aria and 64 bit Sonar?

    Hi

    Calling Markleford if he's around.

I upgraded my system to a Core i7 and I'm downloading the GPO4. I've already got Sonar 64 bit installed.

Question is - will all your great Mfx plugs work with 64 bit Sonar and with Aria?

I am so used to working with them they have become an essential part of my workflow. My track templates for GPO come standard with them installed. However, even though I downloaded the latests ones again and ran the bat files included, they do not want to show up in Sonar's plug-in manager. My track templates with them shows the dreaded plug-in missing message.

    Thanks

It's likely an issue with user access control: the batch files need permissions to use regsrv32.exe to register the MFX .dll files, and I don't think that's given by default.

But so far as I know, SONAR-64 should bridge any MFX plugs. However, I only ran under Vista 64 briefly, and even then used SONAR-32 (because I needed ReWire, which still wasn't 64-bit compatible), so I'm not the expert on it!

Perhaps search the Cakewalk forums for general tips on UAC/MFX?

Sorry to dig up this VERY old thread, but I'm trying to tie up loose ends from over the years for people who may arrive here from a search: best if it doesn't remain a dead-end!

No, SONAR x64 version was not able to load 32-bit MFX dlls.

However, I've now ported a bunch of my MFX to 64-bit. See my site for details, or this NSS thread: http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/...gins-go-64-bit

    Cheers,
