    Unhappy Picky Pipe Organist...

I'm very picky about pipe organs. Don't get me wrong, I love all registrations, but with my particular sound, I'm looking for an organ that can be full, yet not overwhelming, smooth, but not wimpy. The pipe organ in GPO sounds...OK... But does anyone know if it can get bigger, and more intimidating? Some things to refer to are the Overture to the Phantom of the Opera, the organ intro in the movie version of Sweeny Todd, and Princess by Versailles Philharmonic Quintet (look them up on itunes). Answers are highly appreciated.

I'm a huuuuge fan of the Lakeside Pipe Organ from www.tonehammer.com. Give it a listen... it's remarkably versatile and only a $59 download. Great sound, too. Sampletekk also has a few different organs to choose from (http://sampletekk.com/products.php?cat=47) depending on what you're looking for.

    For Kontakt
    PMI Baroque Organ
Notre Dame de Budapest Pipe Organ Samples
    ProjectSAM Organ Mystique

    For Hautwerk
Palace of Arts Budapest Pipe Organ Samples

    And VSL has their organ.

As far as I know, those are pipe organ samples that are available in the market.

You might like the Konzerthaus Organ: -> http://vsl.co.at/en/211/442/478/450/556/288.htm

I have considered that one. Very affordable for what I want.

I did want to get that one, at first, but I'm running Logic, so I'll only go through the trouble of converting all the unmapped samples if I have to. But it does have the menacing sound that I like.

I'm gonna listen to the VSL package. Project SAM sounded enticing, but when I listened to it, it really didn't offer much. It'd be great if they did a sampling of the Hollywood Studio's pipe organ.

I can't believe I neglected to mention VSL's Konzerthaus Organ -- it's definitely one of the finer instruments on offer. Sorry Dietz!

Another option could be the Cavaillé-Coll organ Madeleine, Paris. It's available for Hauptwerk (even the free version) or Kontakt.
