    Re: The Perseids

    Ron;
I enjoyed that one immensely - felt like I was in the South of Spain the whole time and particularly liked the guitar! Very smooth and opulent conception on your part.
    A note about astronomy;
I once traded a small refracting telescope for a larger, 4" home made reflector including some Barlow lenses and a good solid stand. First winter I stored it upright in the basement, a mouse fell into the tube, couldn't get out (poor mouse) and died on the mirror, leaving a permanent and indelible stain!

    Keep up the good work!
    Best regards,

Instantly shoots to the top of my Faves charts, Ron! Simply one of The Best listening experiences I've had in the vast Rolifer catalogs - and that's saying a lot because I always perk up and have a great time hearing your work.

So space has beauty along with clashing conflict - I'm relieved!

I will thank you here as I did there.

    SD

I almost named this one EL Perseids so I get the Spanish reference completely.

I wouldn't have been thinking "poor mouse".

    Thanks Aram

    Randy

This is easily the best recording I have made since you walked me thru the send process. This one uses Perfect Space for everyone (thru a send) and Lexicon as well for the back row guys. I think that has helped my depth a bit.

Now back to seeing what else I am unqualified to do.

    Thanks guys

    Re: The Perseids

What a wonderful color piece, Ron!

    Superb!

I was also pleased to hear a richer, fuller orchestrative
language in this, my friend -- quite lush and luxuriant,
really. Very well done, and it falls like silk on the ears.

One suggestion I might make is lesser dependence on the
violin lead. In mind's ear, I relistened this imagining winds,
light brass, and so on taking some of the lead lines and --
might be worth a little experimenting if you're thus
    inclined.

Stay on this path, Ron. This is easily one of the best
    I've heard from you.

    With applause,

    David

I agree with the others that this is one of your very best. There is a feeling of motion in space. I enjoyed the quiet serenity, passages where there is a pathos and a looking inward to complement the looking outward at the meteors, moods not so common in much of your work - very beautiful.

The suggestion of etLux is interesting.

    Well done

Wow Ron, this is great! I agree with the others that this is one of the best, if not the best, piece of music by you that I've heard.

    David

Now everytime I listen to this, I want to go back and change it to use instruments other than the solo violin all of the time. That never occured to me while composing the piece, but now it seems rather obvious.

I also think that this piece is my best to date, so I greatly appreciate the acknowledgment.

    Herb

I almost e-mailed you on this one. But I see that you made it into here to take a listen. As I said, I do think this is my best work so far and I hope to get better in time.

    Thanks guys
