    "Scherzo Number Twelve"

    All Of Y'all,

Originally, this was one of my compositions for harpsichord. I partially rewrote it, converted it to a work for the Garritan Authorized Steinway piano and extensively tweaked it.

    Here is "Scherzo Number Twelve".

Converting a work from one instrument to another can be as much work as writing something from scratch.

If you think that it is too technically difficult, it has been played by one of my friends, from start to finish, without a single wrong note.

Wow, that's quite a ride Larry! It's like the more involved of the Goldberg Variations, but with the drama of Beethoven. I think I'm gonna have to spend some time on your web page.

......now, there is a fellow who knows how to create a good ending! Masterful as usual, Larry! Actually wouldn't mind it on harpsichord either, that is a wonderful thing, your friend playing it for you.
    Thanks!

This isn't particularly difficult, Larry -- it lays out very
nicely under the hand, like so much of your keyboard
writing does. Any reasonably practiced pianist shouldn't
have too much trouble with it.

With my Romantic tendencies, I think I would have been
leaning on my right foot quite a bit on this; but the crisp,
tight sound works very well, too.

    Much enjoyed!

I tried some sustain pedal "injections" but it caused an unpleasant "smearing" effect and, as you say, the work lost its crispness.

Thank you for your good review of my compositional efforts, Mister David. I appreciate it, as always.
