    Passages, again

    More vision of Life's passages.

In my alteration of some segments I realized that I recorded a non-Garritan version. That's an unclear aspect of the Garritan set-up in Finale 2009.

I think this version is much better.

It starts rather unassumingly, almost fragmented, perhaps because the piano sound is quite thin. I had almost closed the window, when suddenly the orchestra came in. That really saved it. I like the the mild dissonance (like in your calliope piece). It has good melodical themes. The orchestration binds them much nicer than the piano.

I can see why you call it passages: life isn't harmonious, at least not always, but we can find harmony once in a while, even when our environment thinks differently. But never a dull moment!

    Thanks for listening, FL.
This song needs more work. The opening is a little slow although I did want a difference.
Some textures are too thick, and the ending could use improvement.

Oh, that's nicer. Now I can hear the alteration between the instruments much better, and the strings coming in low. Bit soft at 1:55, the piano is still the weakest link, but you can be happy, even proud of this piece.

Do you like Copland, or am I mistaken?

    Hi FL,
Thanks for listening again. Once U post, most people don't listen again.
    Copland, Richard Strauss, Prokofiev.
