It starts rather unassumingly, almost fragmented, perhaps because the piano sound is quite thin. I had almost closed the window, when suddenly the orchestra came in. That really saved it. I like the the mild dissonance (like in your calliope piece). It has good melodical themes. The orchestration binds them much nicer than the piano.
I can see why you call it passages: life isn't harmonious, at least not always, but we can find harmony once in a while, even when our environment thinks differently. But never a dull moment!
Oh, that's nicer. Now I can hear the alteration between the instruments much better, and the strings coming in low. Bit soft at 1:55, the piano is still the weakest link, but you can be happy, even proud of this piece.
