Thanks toska- from start to finish, I spent about a week on this project. I composed the piece on piano, and then orchestrated it in Finale with GPO. However, I did come up with the initial melody back in June; I guess you can say I let it ferment for a few months before turning it into a piece.
That must be the most beautiful piece i have heard in a very long time!!!!
Thank you for making my day!
You truly are an outstanding musician...
I wish you all the best!
Keep up the amazing work!
I loved that part at 2:56 where the french horn (correct me if im wrong) plays and the strings are floating beautifully with it...
The vibrato on the strings is also amazing! i love it! Very inspiring!
The trumpet parts need a little bit of work though but nothing major...
The mastering is perfect and the abience makes this piece extremely convincing!!
Glad you liked that part at 2:56... I attempted something similar in my last piece but it fell a little short, so I decided to give it another try. To get the strings to shine the way they did, I added two solo violin patches on top of the lush Violin 1 and it worked wonders for the tone! Haven't upgraded to GPO4.
As far as the trumpets go, do you mean the writing or the tone? I used the Piccolo trumpet with vibrato to get closest to the type of sound I wanted; the regular trumpets weren't soaring the way I wanted them to. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
wow...this is really a pearl, very inspiring, thanks for posting it!
the tune is not only composed very well, also the technical site - letting the samples sound real with all of the smooth transitions and volume proportions - is executed very well...including the acoustics (which reverb did you use?).
