    Can Someone Explain Vienna Ensemble?

I'm not really sure how Vienna Ensemble 3 or Pro works.

Can I have two macs and connect them via Ethernet with one running Logic and the other running Kontakt, and load it just like it was installed on the main computer with my DAW?

Do I need a PC for this?

Does it play back the audio in my DAW?

Is this the same thing an MIDIoverLan, but it transfers the audio as well?

    I am very confused!!!

It is going to be released "soon"...

Could be a couple days, a couple weeks... or...

Though it is reportedly getting "close".

So... It looks like I could buy Ensemble3 now for 95 euros and upgrade free to the pro edition, which will cost 145 euros.

Seems like too good a deal, so I'm asking for confirmation.

Thanks for the quick responses everyone. Right now I have a MacBook Pro and I'm about to get a new iMac. It's great to know that I can share the load between the two.

It just seems too easy and too good to be real!!!

Actually, nobody has said that. It will all depend on whether or not the developer of your favourite VSTi decides to "support" Vienna Ensemble as a host.
