    Gary,

    This is a great production of a fine Sousa march. Love that way the Garritan products produce such a fine sound with Sousa.

    Hi Gary,

    A very enjoyable listen. Bright and sparkling, with just the right touches of ritards here and there.

    One small criticism - I thought there could be a little more bite in the brasses in some spots.

    All in all - crisp and clean, and very enjoyable.

    Best Regards,

    Jack

    I agree that there are times when you neeed more powerful brass lnes. Using Finale, options seem to be dynamic markings help but aren't always the help needed. Perhaps I should explore more use of "ff,fff, e†c."

    Nice to hear a march

    Im just taking a break from writing a march myself, although i will never write anything quite near the quality Sousa wrote.

    Very nice indeed, good to hear from you. A very nice, less popular, march from the march king himself.

    Thanks for listening, Dan.
    Ironically, a great march is one which many people can sing along with the 1st time they hear it.
    It seems simple. Write 4 nice melodies; find a good counter melody;
    have a catchy, simple accompanying rhythm; follow usual form of INTRO-1ST & 2ND STRAIN(REPEATED) TRIO IN NEW KEY-MAYBE A SHORT BREAK STRAIN, REPEAT TRIO & OUT.
