Cinematic Strings Monster Stacc Patch keeps dropping notes

    Hey all,

Finally got a chance to sit down and really dig into the free Monster Staccato patch from Cinematic Strings. It sounds amazing. Nice full bodied sound. However, I keep getting notes that drop out after a short while. It seems to occur more frequently if I hold the sustain pedal down during a sequence. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Is there a quick fix for this? Thanks.

Out of curiousity, why would you hold down the sustain pedal?

    It triggers the reverb tails

Hi Mode, glad you like the sound!

Yes, this is to do with the way the library is scripted. Basically, you should avoid using the sustain pedal while using short note articulations within CS.

Instead, you should shape the reverb tails by adjusting the modwheel (CC1) and CC5. CC1 adjusts the release length of the samples, while CC5 sets the sustain volume. By adjusting these 2 CCs, you can effectively shape the envelope of the samples, which in turn affects the sound and feel of the performance.

It's also worth noting that these 2 CC #s can be changed by navigating to the "CC Setup" menu within the GUI.

    Cheers!

Ah ha. That works much better. Thanks for the tip.
