Topic: "Right in the face"

    "Right in the face"

is an expression often used by DPDAN. I know what it means, but it often refers to the reverb-wet-dry of the instruments and the "stage spot".

Dan, can you give me an example with "right in the face" and how it should be to compare both? It is not fully clear to me how it sounds.

    Re: "Right in the face"

Apparently if you listen to the clip I recently posted in my "Mixing Help Please" thread, the lead trumpet is "right in the face."

Actually, it is. That's a good example - which is odd since the EW instruments have a fair amount of reverb built right into the sample.
