Hi, just installed Vintage D on my computer and I think it's great. Highly playable, great sounding. It's such a joy to play that I've made two short "real-world user" demos - basically the default patch, built-in convolution reverb turned on and that's it.

I'm not a piano player at all but for several years I had an opportunity to sit behind the real thing in the school studio so I am familiar with THE sound and it's unbelievable what you're getting for your money. I own many software piano libraries and like and dislike many of them for different reasons - Sampletekk, EastWest, NI Akoustik, Imperfect Samples etc. I already know that there simply is no best either hardware or software piano, but what I particularly like about Vintage D is the middle register - area around middle C. In my opinion they've got this right and the sound is not getting muddy even when things turn a bit complex.
Still haven't dealt with all the features, I just want to sit and play and enjoy the timbre. I have come across a few strangely ringing notes at certain velocities, but haven't tried to study it further yet.
BTW, I am using Roland RD-700SX and still searching for the better key action - this might be the answer for "are there any playable samples" thread as well. I think one problem which we all encounter is the weird connection between keys and sound. Something just doesn't feel right. But I have to admit I feel much better since the time I realized that I am not trying to replace the real piano, but I am trying to replace the real piano recording:-)
Sorry for my English, haven't used it for a long time. I hope some of it makes sense.

A sounds identical to the Vintage D demo recording, although I hear a very subtle artifact in places that I don't hear on the original (a very faint scratchy sound)
Both sound very nice, but I prefer A over B. (I don't know the source of B)
Do you have a preference for one over the other, Glenn?
Thanks,
Greg.
And the best thing: When buying the Vintage D you get the GII Kontakt 4 update for free (and this update is HIGHLY recommendable)

I still can't find the upgrade. I have Galaxy II but would like to get the deal for the Vintage D Kontakt 4 upgrade. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Sorry,
We had some delay due to a scripting problem. Hopefully we can release the download this week and have the DVDs printed in about 2 weeks.
Thanks for your patience.
Robert
