    sustain pedal trigger in sfz?

    Hey, I come from open source land and I'm currently making a free grand piano sample library, I now wonder if it is somehow possible to trigger samples with the sustain pedal in sfz?(for pedaling noise, duh?) I've looked through all opcodes but can't seem to find it.

    Here's a tiny demo.. http://j.imagehost.org/download/0191/GrandPianoUpdate3

    Hi! for triggering using CC´s i believe you can use "on_locc64" or "locc64" but the problem is that you cant disconnect cc64 from the sustain message.
    For a more advanced/accurate information i suggest you to ask in this forum:

    Aaah, yees I think I get it now I didn't know what CC stood for. I actually don't know much about midi in general.. Time to do some more research.

    But I don't want to disconnect the sustain message now do I ? So that shouldn't be to much of a problem.

    No, if you are working on a piano. If you will program other non-sustained instruments like an oboe, and want re-assign the pedal to another function, you cant, at least with the free sfz player. With ARIA, the garritan sfz player, it´s another story.

    in SFZ 2.0 (ARIA/Dimension Pro) you can connect/disconnect the sustain message with

    sustain_sw=off

    the default behaviour is "on"

    And then CC#64 is addressable just like any other CC?

    cc64 is always adressable like any other CCs, that sustain_sw just turn off the direct link between cc64 and sustaining sounds

    I cannot to get this working right, shouldn't this be it?

    <region>
    sample=48khz24bit\pedalD1.wav
    on_locc64=1
    on_hicc64=127
    hikey=0
    pitch_keytrack=0
    pitch_keycenter=0

    Something like this would work in Aria. Other sfz players might or might not support the opcode.

    <group> group=2 polyphony=1
    <region> on_locc64=1 sample=SusDown.wav
    <region> on_hicc64=0 sample=SusUp.wav

    it should work in other too.. Maby there's some bug in the player I'm using, it's called linuxsampler and they've just recently implemented sfz. They have implemented the on_lo(hi)cc# opcodes tho.

    I used a midimonitor to see what value the sustain pedal is sending, and it's 127 for on and 0 for off.

    I also found some more sfz documention http://www.drealm.info/sfz/plj-sfz.xhtml#triggernote

    There it says you must disable note-on messages for it to work, by doing "hikey=-1" however, I don't understand how this as possible values for hikey is 0-127.
