Extensive droputs with JABB and ARIAplayer

I've just upgraded to the aria version of JABB.
I get a lot of dropouts in playback, disk loss reaches 100 in a few bars.
I´ve tried both with Finale 2010 and Cubase 5, same thing () in both programs. Disk doesn't even reach 1%
Even if I play a single note I get a droputs after half a second.
I´m running windows XP on a Phenom II 3 ghz quadcore pc, seagate 7200 rpm sata drive, 3 gb ram.
    Soundcard is EMU 1616
Please help, this problem makes JABB unusable.

    Hi Claus,
Try minimizing the user interface, and you may find the drop-outs go away. When the JABB UI is visible it takes away resources in order to do redraws. I believe this may be changed to no longer be much of an issue in the future, but for now it may be sufficient for you to simply minimize the UI so that it is not visible. And if this doesn't help, then probably you'll need to raise the buffer size, since when you've configured your host program to use very small buffer sizes, that can be a source of drop-outs for any audio plugin including JABB.

    Hi !
Spend last night (it´s morning in sweden now..) trying som tweaks.
The visibility of the gui doesn't change anything. Buffer and preload in aria are set to max amount. Problem persists. If the problem is related to buffer/preload, I suppose I would be able to hear all the sounds on a second playback, since the samples already are loaded into ram? (which they don´t..)
I´ve also tried uninstalling the samples, defragmenting all partititions and installing again. No difference

Re: Extensive droputs with JABB and ARIAplayer

I had this issue when beta testing back in January. I had installed an update for the Steinway that somehow caused the issue. Updating to the latest ARIA player fixed the issue.

What version of the ARIA Player do you have?

Version says: Aria player 1.02, aria 1.092 (windows x86)
Where do I look for updates?

Could it make a difference if I uninstall the old Kontakt versions of JABB?
I don't really want to do that, since that would cause a lot of my old cubase/finale files being unable to playback.

No, keep your Kontakt version of JABB.

Check on the SETTINGS tab of ARIA Player.
If RAM TOTAL reaches DYN MAX, while loading instruments, you'll get disk loss.
If RAM TOTAL reaches DYN MAX while playing notes, no problem, you should not get disk loss.

To avoid disk loss due to instrument samples load.
Increase DYN MAX and or decrease Pre Caching before loading instruments.
If you increase DYN MAX or decrease Pre Caching after, you'll have to save then reload with new settings.
