    "The New Americans"

    "The New Americans"

    http://www.gygardner.com/music/OurAm..._Americans.mp3

This is the second piece in my "Our American Heritage" suite, a personal tribute to the courage, suffering and sacrifice of individuals who gave us our America.
History books tend to focus on facts and often overlook the personal drama that accompanied them.
The pilgrims are presented as somewhat austere individuals who simply sailed to the New World.
But they had to abandon the security and comfort of the only homes they knew to make a new home in an unknown wilderness.
To do this they had to cross dangerous seas in small wooden boats. Their only comfort and guide was their religious faith.

There are 4 sections to "The New Americans"
    1. Sailing from Home
    2. Hymn for Salvation from a Stormy Sea
    3. Sighting Land and Hymn of Thanksgiving
    4. A new Home

    The entire suite is at:

Very descriptive "programme" music Jeff and so well done as
    David stated.

It is very obvious that you put a lot of time into you project.
The result being a fine addition to your "Our American Heritage Suite."

    Really good listening, Jeff.

Very, very impressive - for someone like me who is just starting with GPO4, this is indeed an inspiration to keep working with it!

    Thanks, FWEATHER
Working with GPO & Finale can require some patience, but it is worth it.
I have had a great time finally hearing the music I had in my mind and could only hear on a piano in the past.

It is so nice to know that someone is finally listening to my music.
After years of rejection and frustration, GPO and this forum have given me new life.
