    Hy there.
I use my gig samples with Gpayer from Soundlib.
You can use it as a standalone or as a plugin in you DAW

It works on both Mac and Win, even on a Win7 64 bit environment

    Any questions visit www.soundlib.com/gplayer

    Cheers Arthur

Re: Giga 3 in Win7 64- Does it Work?

I've seen various murmurings on the forums about GS3 with Win7 in 64 so I thought I'd give it a try and just install GS3 on my win7 64 windows machine. Install is fine but when running I get the message asking if I want to start it in diagnostic mode. If I say yes it goes to the diagnostic window and I can change the settings but can't OK it. If I don't or I cancel the compatibility settings, I get a warning saying the kernel drivers have not been installed and should GS attempt to do this now. If I say no, the programme shuts down. If I say, yes it crashes. I never get into the main console.

I feel so near but so far. Any suggestions? I've tried running it in compatibility mode but that doesn't seem to make any difference. It would be great if I could use GS3 on my machine because I can't seem to find a GS4 version to buy.

Failing some advice, could someone tell me if any of the alternative giga sample players allow you to assign patch and bank values to samples. I've tried MachFive, G-player, Samplelord and LinuxSampler and none of them seem to have this feature that I used heavily in GS3.

Since Giga was discontinued I've used Independence and while I've managed to convert some key giga samples, it still seems a nightmare to switch between samples in my scorewriter, Sibelius.

Gone are the days when I could easily put together great sounding work using GS3; I wish I could get them back!

(and yes, I know, I could set up a dual boot system but I [cue spoilt brat voice] really don't wanna).

The must be a way I can have my cake and eat it, no?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

There must be someone out there who has done this, surely?

Just keep advertising for GS4, it has some small problems, but I love it, and use it in Win 7.
You will need RME because M-Audio drivers don't work.... no GSIF since XP, obviously RME sees the bigger picture.
    Equipment Hardware:
    Sager laptop (Clevo)
    Windows 7 Ultimate SP 1
Intel Core Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHZ 8.00 GB Ram

    ST9160823AS 150GB 7200 rpm
    RME Fireface 800

    Gigastudio 4
Native Instruments B4 VSTi Bridged "Jbridge"
    Dosbox 0.74 running "Texture" sequencer.
