    Re: OT: Ronnie James Dio

    Very sad

I seen him in '86 Sacred Hearts when I was a teen
Such an amazing show - fire breathing dragon, knights, lasers, pyros - It was totally DIO
And his voice was just awesome
The concern my parents had for my well being with the religious protesters that threatened to shut it down on the news, what a joke
There was nothing evil about the man or his music
It was a very memorable event of my youth.

I was telling my 14 year old son about him and seeing him as a kid, and I kept choking up.
I was little surprised that he knew his music. I guess there is hope for our youth after all....
Probably not.... But, at least Dio's music will still live on

    RIP Ronnie

So very true, Aaron. I would always get a kick out of it when Dio would explain the Maloike to the metal crowd. This is an Italian hand gesture that his (and mine LOL) Grandmother did to ward off evil. Today we know it as the horns! All in good fun!!

The man was such a kind soul and he will be missed. Like the song says,

    "So live for today
    Tomorrow never comes
    Die young!"

    RJD rules!!

    ps. BLAST IT!

It was quite sad to hear him plan about the future and future albums, at least his music will live in the future.
