    Seaching for giga natural sounds...

    I\'m searching for some natural sounds like

    * rain
    * wind
    * some animals like birds
    * water murmur

    to include it into my music creations.

    Any ideas where I can get this kind of sounds? Maybe for free?

    Thanks a lot

    Markus,

    If you want to pay for them, Hollywood Edge make top quality SFX libraries and are now releasing Quicksound compatable vesions of same.

    If you are looking for free stuff, why not search the web for WAV files of the type you\'re after and download them?

    It is only a few step process to import the wav files into an editor and assign them to regions.

    I think they need to be 16 bit rather than 8.

    It\'s not free, but the Best of Blue Box set of sound fx has the sounds you are talking about. I think it may be available at soundsonline.com, but I am not sure about that.

    Tiger,

    You\'re in big luck!

    Go to www.BolderSounds.com, Dennis Burns (who normally provides samples for the Kurzweil)has got some nice water samples, including rain. They\'re wave files.

    Go to his site, then click on the free stuff link, then the Sound of the Wed (SOW).

    This will take care of at least a part of your need.

    Regards,
    Trond.

    If you have Chicken Systems Translator, you can translate Kurzweil sounds. Search at Sweetwater site and the Kurzweil site and you will find FX for free.

    Clueless,
    I\'ve been watching the Chicken site, and the Kurzweil implementation was always \'in progress\'. Are you saying it\'s out and working? That would be good news, I\'ve got a ton of samples to translate.
    Regards,
    Trond.

    I did not even think about it. I just ran them on the latest version and they converted. Seems to be out and working.
