New Forum toolbar-bottom of the screen - ?

I think this just appeared today? A toolbar here at the Forum, with Search, Translate, Recent Posts, Random posts, Share, Facebook and Twitter--. OK--so this is something we Must have, or is there a way to turn it off?

so this is something we Must have
As much as having a vuvuzela player in the neighbourhood.

or is there a way to turn it off?
The same: you can only minimize it.

You mean you never wanted a random post finder?!

Idk, the search will be nice, I always had a tough time getting to it before (though now it seems there's an easy-to-find search in the top-right corner as well.

At least we can share with twitter and facebook, though!

Ah! Thanks, Fabio - much better.

Now if I could only find the Ad blocker, or whatever it is, mentioned on another thread as being the cause of non-functioning buttons.

At first I couldn't see what you were talking about, but then it dawned on me: I have the NoScript plugin in FireFox and block all scripts by default. That toolbar thingy is a JavaScript. I allowed scripts long enough to see it, then turned it back off ... even though I won't be able to see random postings. It seemed like a curmudgeonly thing to do, so I did it.

BTW, there's a Search function up towards the top of the page.

Hi, Pat - "...I have the NoScript plugin in FireFox and block all scripts by default..." - !--- My goodness. That sound so-radical. What led you to the decision of doing that? Generally, I want to see everything that's supposed to be going on with a site.

Does that block you from seeing Flash, and videos--? Page formatting-? What all does it block?

I find that tool bar annoying, as well. I know I can minimize it, but I have to do it every time. Not a deal-breaker, but one more little burr in the saddle. I'm all for change, but I can't say I like the new site.

And it is slower to load - the old one loaded almost instantly. This one takes a while, then there is an intermittent moment when the text is all jumbled and piled together, then clarity.

    What's the emoticon for "sigh"?

    Sigh.
