    Menuire's Piano

I know I haven't posted here in quite a while, but I always check in from time to time.

This one uses many libraries but the Piano is the Garritan Authorized Steinway and the Bass Clarinet is from GPO 4.

I am having some hearing problems so I apologize if any of the levels are off.

Whatever hearing problems (sad to know this, I hope it will go very soon), but this piece is really an ear-catcher. I liked the opening very much (which you repeat later on), those piano sustains melting all sounds together. I am stunned, really and you know how much trouble I have understanding your music. It may have taken a while since the last "LR presentation" but what a come back!!!!

    With admiration,

    Raymond

    Hi Ron;
I will gladly second Raymond's remarks, it is sparkling and clear and the piano, instead of grounding the thing in conventionality, joins as part of your "Musique Concrete" orchestra, as I say, it is refreshing .............. not to mention great to see you back with something so interesting!

    Best regards,

    Thanks guys

My hearing is a little better this evening and I can hear some things that I would do a little differently, but it is "finished for now", which means I have started something new and that makes it doubtful I will return to this one again.

I know this style is not for everyone so you guys might just be the only ones I hear from here so thanks for the words of encouragement.

Nice to hear something from you Ron. I'm sorry to learn about your hearing problems and hope that clears up soon.

Anyway, this is a very affective piece. I enjoyed it very much. You're very good at creating interesting "soundscapes".

Thanks for sharing this with us.

My hearing is finally beginning to clear up. Not sure yet if it will come back 100%, but it is a lot better than it was.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and add your thoughts.

Well, I am pleased that your hearing is improved. About 15 years ago, I had a problem that caused near total deafness, but was quickly cleared, apparently a yeast infection! So I surely know what you are experiencing.

I am downloading your piece from Box.net as I type. I wouldn't miss it for anything! I will post my thoughts tomorrow. For me, it is a really slow download, but worth it!

I was diagnosed with Menuire's Disease about 4 years ago but it never was much of a problem until now. The week I composed this I had almost constant ringing in my ears and ever present vertigo to try to deal with. MOst of the vertigo is gone and the ringing and nausea are now tolerable but I am still hoping that my hearing will return to normal.

I know what it's like to have slow download speeds so I can understand your predicament and appreciate your steadfastness in getting access to my works.

    Hi Ron.
    What an interesting composition.
The runs at the low register of the piano are "beautiful and terrible as an army with banners"!
I'll go on checking your previous works.

I went searching but it doesn't look like you have posted any music yet. If you do post some, feel free to PM me to let me know so I can take a listen.

    Thanks
