A really great, contemporary writing. It has movement, a lot of good
rhythmic motifs, attention-getting percussion, and a host of independent
moving musical lines that are played by some fine musicians.......lol

Seriously, it was a real pleasure to be treated to some more Sosnowski
after such a long break. This piece should be played by a "live" orchestra.
And, if it is another Finale extravaganza, I take my hat off to you again.
Being a computer mogul, you must be hiding something in the wings that
we don't know about when you create with Finale. The mix sounds
fantastic...

You might call it jazz, but to me it's a pretty decent symphonic poem, a cross-over between Bartok and 20th century American, sort of Gershwin at a riper age. And it sounds convincing. I agree with what Carl Hanssen above wrote. The use/development of the melodic cell is admirable, and the rhythm feels indeed native to the piece, and the whole is concise. My compliments.

Is it beautiful? No, it is beyond that. Suprisingly simple but with a lot of contents, melodic outbreaks and superb orchestration. A week has seven days, we all know the names of the days; I personally think we must add another one: the eighth day - Sosnowski Day to open his website and go over all his presented compositions.

This is really a talented composer, not just by accidentally making one very good compostion, but all his work belongs to the highest ranks.

I can't say I take aim at any particular style -- I really do
not; and in fact, the harmonic, motivic, and orchestative
approaches I take are usually quite different from one piece
to another. (I've got this phobia about repeating myself... lol.)

But you know, I believe in a well written piece, you're truly
listening to the deepest thought processes of a writer. Perhaps
that, more than sheerly stylistic matters, is what makes the
work of a given writer so identifiable.

Apologies for taking so long to listen and reply. I can only echo the bravos that have been posted.

This has many of your hallmark features: motivic conciseness, rhythmic drive (without monotony), and the use of the solo trumpet - almost your signature orchestration, yes? This piece is so thorough in its examination of the opening motif, and so surely driven forward, there is never an unnecessary note. It is the marriage of the mind, with its logical organization, and the heart, as this is a very beautiful and moving work.

Superbly done. It always seems that what you post can't possibly be topped, yet you do this repeatedly: each successive piece reveals another layer of inspiration.

Now, get back to the Delete This thread - from what I gather, you have a lot to do with keeping it afloat. We're counting on you...
