Wow! Some of you guys should do movie scores, or something! This piece captures a great deal of emotion in many different ways. Very clever use of all the instrumentation involved from the brass to the woodwinds to the percussion. Lovely! Must check out more from you.

Thanks, Owen. This one's actually easy enough that
some orchestra might be fool enough to take a shot
    at it... lol!

I would say that you've succeeded in the Thinning Out department. I saw the score first and thought it looked very thin, then started listening and wow! did it work! Everything shines through beautifully.
I had the same reaction when I was writing it --
I do things in my head first -- that it would not work
when I scored it out and rendered it.

But I guess there's something to that old maxim
    about less being more.

Thanks for sharing this with us.
    Regards
    Owen

I agree on every single word of your reply.
As other fellows stated here, I wish to hear
your works live on stage: dreaming of this
happening in an Italian theatre, possibily
    in Milan. Someday...
Thank you for the kind thoughts, Fabio.

It pleases me that there are others who have
come to appreciate the intersection of physics
and philosophy -- how they are really oftentimes
    saying exactly the same thing.

Indeed, I might posit that they are the same thing.

    My best,

I had a friend once who wrote music very much like this. I enjoy it, as I enjoyed "Persistence of Vision." I don't write in this style, but I can appreciate its nuances very much. In fact, I thought the piece ended much too soon... I would love to hear more of it. I have not looked at the score yet, my eyes have been practically worn out from all my activities today, so I plan to come back and study the score somewhat, if I may. You have intrigued me, David, and not very many people can do that, mainly because I'm so old and jaded. Maybe "addled" would be a better word for my condition.

This is first class work, David. Please continue.

A very wise man once told me that when one has finished
saying what one has to say, one should stop talking.

I try to adhere to that principle in music, as well.

Oh, come now, Arvid, you're but four years older than I am.
As musicians go, we have decades of good years ahead!

There's not really much to tell except that I knew him and loved his music very much. Last I heard, he was a struggling high school band director, but he may be dead by now. That happens at our age...

That is indeed very wise, David. Unfortunately, I don't think I fall among the "wise." I tend to run on and on... and on... and on...

I agree with you, but one of the reasons I have earned the sobriquet of "BionicBub" is due to the fact that some of my original parts are now missing... I may not be firing on all cylinders, either! Beware...

While it's a worthwhile endeavor to maintain the components
with which one was born, look on the bright side, Arvid. While
the OEM doesn't sell replacement parts -- a lot of these
aftermarket substitutes will still last a great deal longer than
    we will.

Judging by the latest research, the lenses in my eyes will probably last another 9,438 years. Hope I'm not still around to verify that, though. I think I would be pretty weary by then...
