Thinking about this laptop for Spectrasonics Products

    Hello,

There is a Toshiba Laptop ( Toshiba Satellite L505-LS5014 ) I am considering buying for $500. I am running Omnisphere, Trillian, and Stylus RMX on a QuadCore desktop system as my main workstation. However I would like to buy this laptop to run the Spectrasonics Products (Omnisphere, Trillian, and Stylus RMX) composing on the run.

    Here are the important specs:
Intel T4400 Dual Core Processor clocked at 2.2 GHZ
    4 GB of DDR3 Ram
250 GB 5400 RPM Drive (not 7200 RPM unfortunately) but enough space for the OS, the space for the 3 products (approximately 120 GB) and room left over to compose.
Windows 7 Premium Home 64 Bit Edition

Opinions on this particular system or something you have that is comparable? I figure for $500 and great reviews I can't go wrong.

    Many thanks in advance.

Any way you can get some bigger ghz? 2.2 seems a little low- although with tweaking it might be good.

    Hi.
For that price try to look for a T6xxx series cpu. Mine is a T6600 at 2.2ghz but has 2Mb L2 cache, double of the T4400. Also if DDR3 ram on that laptop is running at 800Mhz, which i think it is, it isn't as good has you might think it could be.
One other thing, look for the newer i3 cpu laptops.

    Cya.
