    OT - Tension in the forums

    Hello everyone,
    I returned to the forums recently after a long time away, and it seems like there is a huge amount of tension here. Did something happen that I missed? I've seen two people announce "dramatic exits" as they've been coined, in the past two weeks. This isn't good for the community as a whole, and it doesn't make a great deal of sense to me.

    These are web forums - Their goal is for peers or colleagues to discuss things on a common subject and offer help where they can. I think many people take any sort of negative comment too personally, somehow forgetting that the person on the other side doesn't really know them outside of what they hear on the forums. This isn't to say that we shouldn't all get to know each other, but this is primarily a place where we come to discuss products that we use, how we do things musically, and generally things relating to our hobby or job as musicians.

    So, please, let's keep things lighthearted and focused on the music - that's what we're all here for.

    Here Here Sonare. I've seen the same as well. My attendance has been spotty due to it being summer and enjoying vacation and outdoor activities.

    Please take a look at this thread started by Nikolas and throw your comments on that. His original intent was framed around forums in general and not this one specifically, but one can't help but comment on this one that so many hold dear as you do. This is a unique community of musicians here.

    Yeah...

    I don't know, but I also feel that. My intentions when starting the decline of the forums thread, was certainly not to start a fight or anything else, but it appears that it did happen.

    I'm not sure what might have happened though...

    It's all my fault.

    I told this joke about three nuns vowed to silence, a talking
    parakeet, and a man hanging from a tree -- and... well, you
    can surmise the rest.

    What I said about the parakeet was completely tasteless;
    and I apologize to the forum.

    Hmmm... maybe I can counter these "dramatic exits" with a "dramatic entrance"...

    HERE I AM!!

    I am here and I'm not leaving!

    If people on this forum are going to be this way, then I'll just stay! How's that?!

    ...

    OK, not really sure if that helps... but it feels good to let in some steam...

    I don't care that about the parakeet.

    Sean can
    let steam in
    any time he wants, in my estimations.

    I am sticking around and enjoying the music and the discussions no matter what is said here!

    You are right, Sean. That was good to get on my chest.
