    Lessons and Carols

    Hi Everybody,

Here's a Christmas offering that's a little too large for the Garritan Christmas CD. It was commissioned by the Mount Saint Charles Academy Music Department in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. It's 100% Garritan sounds except for the finger cymbals which are from Virtual Drumline.

By gosh, we're coming onto that season again. In fact,
I've already got my Christmas lights up.

Four stars on a very beautiful and subtle arrangement,
Reber... well conceived (and well rendered). This will be
just gorgeous in live performance -- by candlelight, one
hopes, to augment the gentle loveliness of this work.

Much enjoyed! Now, uh, would you remember perhaps
where I put the tinsel last year?

    All the best,

    David

Subtle, tender, tasteful. As David says, played live in an intimate environment, this should feel like a warm bath.

Very tasteful arrangement and performance. I would reduce the reverb on some of the lower pitched instruments just a small bit. On my gear they seem to get lost in the mix a bit. You're work here is superb!

Arthur and JB - Thanks for your kind words. And yes, it may improved by less reverb on the bottom end. The idea was to simulate a large church setting.

The actual piece is for live performers so I didn't sweat the audio on this file too much since it is just a guide to help the conductor and the ensemble "get the idea."

BTW the reverb is the Garritan Ambience "Church" preset.
