    After World - the choir?

Haven't heard a lot about the Garritan Choir lately. Maybe, now that World is out, there will be a focus on the choir? Or has the whole project been abandoned?

Yabut, yabut ...! What about those of us holding our breath in anticipation of GOS2?

I'd ask that same question but I'm afraid of the answer.

There were some new choir sounds released with Finale 2011 so I figure that it's still a go. I would like it to be the next Garritan product.
In theory there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice there is.

Not sure about the choir. On the last page of the World Library user guide, three products are listed as "in development".

    Pipe Organs
    Orchestral Strings
    Extras - Orchestral Effects

    I am also eagerly awaiting the GEAC;
which I understand is now in late-
    stage development.

After searching for it I still can't find the post, but within the last few days, Gary posted a response to a thread saying that the next thing he was turning his attention to after this release of World, was the new incarnation of GOS - Garritan Orchestral Strings.

In a recent message he also mentioned continuing to work on the Choir - so it's not as if anything we're looking forward to has been shelved.

How long any given project takes to complete - that's anyone's guess. World took over a year to develop even After the major work was done. I started Beta testing World in January of this year- now here we are in November with a program which is essentially the same as what I first heard at the beginning of the year. These things take time.

What is the GEAC? (I know about GPO, COMB2, JABB and such things, but appearently there still remain some acronyms to be learned.)

The GEAC is the result of super-secret Garritan experimental
research projects in which Jeff Hurchalla utilized hyper-dimensional
physics, three parrots, and a pair of knitting needles to travel
backward in time. Having arrived in the Jurassic period, Jeff instantly
yanked his handy-dandy digital recorder out from beneath his ever-
present black cape, and began recording.

And thus was born the most ambitious, most revolutionary Garritan
sound library ever. Yes, that's right, it's the often rumored but now
    revealed...

    Garritan Extinct Animals Collection

As soon as the finishing touches are placed on the GEAC, Jeff will
once again weave his hyper-dimensional magic and travel back to
December of 2007 to release the library -- so do look for it about three
    years ago from this Christmas.

    Best,

    David

    Hi hansuelmann,

The project has not been abandoned. I had to take time off the past year for personal reasons but am getting back in the swing of things.

The main focus is the Strings library. We have not abandoned the choir and that is still in development.

    All the best,

    Gary
